Real plus size women, real lives, not size 10 models or Mannequins

One of the most difficult decisions made at Realityplus Clothing in our first year is how to show our clothes in our on-line store. In the beginning, we were highly conscious that the plus size woman wants to see clothing on a plus size, not a size 10 model. With this in mind, we had our mannequins custom made in a size 20 (our mannis even have a little flesh in the back, and a tummy!). Feedback from some of our customers said you wanted to see the clothes on REAL plus size women ... so for spring, we did!

We photographed our collection on real plus women (not models). The women in our shoot are all a size 18-20. They range in age from 22 to 63. Some are tall, some are not. Some have fuller busts; others are fuller in the hips. They all have real lives. Whether just graduating from college, stay at home moms, or college professors, these women are beautiful. It was so much fun watching them during the photo shoot. As they became more relaxed (this was their first time as models) there was a lot of laughter, dancing, singing, and new friendships.

One thing I learned the day of our photo shoot from these women: Smart and confident IS sexy!
